BRIEFING

Video course launch for photographers

PRESS photographers are being given the chance to become video camera operators thanks to a new course being launched by Press Association Training.

The three-day course will teach snappers how to shoot great moving images building on the skills they have already in place.

Tony Johnston, head of Press Association Training, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this new course as we know it is something which many photographers are anxious to learn about.

“They want to be able to gather rushes in video, but to ensure that they manage to shoot high quality moving pictures. This course is an ideal way of learning those skills.”

Christina Fox, who trains extensively for PA Training, as well as other clients such as the BBC, is running the course.

Delegates will learn about how the camera works, what makes good images in vide, how to use the correct microphones and how to shoot a sequence.

The course is being run in London at PA’s headquarters in Vauxhall Bridge Road on April 3, 4 and 5th.

The course aims to build on the skills of traditional stills photographers and teach them how to be able to shoot video news pictures.
